| Customer Reviews: works great March 10, 2010 J. Burke (Long Beach California) This product is great--nothing sticks--cleans off easily. Only thing, it feels strange to the touch. It reminds me of the goopy toy my kids had--slime or something. Definitely would buy again-a different size for a smaller pan.
Great for bakers! March 8, 2010 Kay (Pasadena, CA United States) Just ordered a 2nd one of these as I have been baking more. They are great for baking anything that may stick to regular parchment paper or oven pan. I also use them as a working pad for shaping cookie or bread dough, which is why I needed a 2nd one. Since when I am rolling out the dough, I need the 2nd pad to place them. My only problem with them is when cleaning after baking, even though the bread or cookies do not stick to them, they tend to leave the grease on them and you need to use plenty of detergent to rinse it out. (or maybe I am just lazy w/ cleaning... )
Silpat 11-5/8-by-16-1/2-Inch Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat February 27, 2010 Kalakala (Bremerton, WA) Received timely and it has been nice to use in baking and preparation for baking.
Perfect- but just a little confusing February 21, 2010 Charmed Life (NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been using a silpat pan liner for two years and finally got around to buying a few more so I would be able to make several batches of cookies and french macaroons. It is so much easier to work with than parchment paper, there is simply no comparison. For washing I do not use soap, I rinse with water only, sometimes even a wipe down with a paper towel is enough to clean it.
My only problem has to do with the confusion in sizes of pan liners, there are so many different sizes some only differing by about a quarter of an inch. It would be great if they could "standardize" the sizes and names they give these liners, it would save a lot of time and confusion.
Best for cookies! February 2, 2010 Shadowgolem (Madison, WI United States) Unbeatable for cookies! They literally slide right off. We have had one for years and just got a second one to go with the second (Caphalon)1/2 sheet pan we just got. Just a warning, don't use this on an insulated cookie sheet as you lose too much heat transfer. You don't need a non-stick pan with these for bakery items.
ALSO REMEMBER!! DO NOT Use over 480 F (250 C)!!
