1 out of 5 stars IMPORTANT - This 1950's WAY overpriced coffee maker has no place in any modern kitchen.   August 30, 2010

I really need to say that this product is a stinker.. it's a tiny, WAY overpriced coffee kettle that works by sitting half-haphazardly on one of your red-hot stove burners until it's contents eventually heat up enough to make a mug's worth of coffee ( which tasted completely burned, by the way.. ). The frother thing is a garbage also, it also needs to sit on the stove burner. Each of them are not much bigger than a coffee mug, so you can imagine how hazardous, inconvenient, and impractical they are to use, you definitely will never use them more than once or twice before you either return them or relegate them to the back of the bottom cabinet eventually to be sold in a yard sale for a dollar or so. The product pretends to be a she-she fancy Italian gourmet item like something a person who rides a Vespa would want to be seen using, but really it's just a crappy post-war Italian piece of junk.

5 out of 5 stars Why didn't I discover this earlier? !!!   August 27, 2010

Having used this set at my vacation house for a few weeks, I just decided to toss my Krups ($300 machine) out, and get one for my home.

Very easy to make 4 lattes or cappuccinos simultaneously instead of sequentially, and with considerably less noise!
highly recommend this product. easier to clean too!

I'm also going to get a 3 cup version to round out my set.

5 out of 5 stars Stop looking! You found the PERFECT Expresso Maker!!!   August 15, 2010
Amazing Grace
I just received these items and I have to say We just LOVE them!!! We've made Cappuccino's and Latte's which taste way better than the ones you get at those expensive coffee places. We did a lot of reading/comparing/research about espresso makers (it was exhausting). I was going to buy a steam one that fits on the counter, but at the last minute the great ratings I saw for this one caught my eye (Thankfully). I read all the great reviews and knew I had to purchase it. The other steam/press machines had too many mixed reviews. I also bought Lavazza crema e gusta coffee after reading some reviews. For the taste you can't beat the price...it absolutely makes a difference...soooo Delicious!!! I have it coming every 3 months which saves a few dollars on the price. If you decide to order this product read the reviews, because I learned from reviews several tips on how to know when the coffee is done and how to make great milk froth because the directions aren't very specific.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS SET!   August 13, 2010

I looked around for dozens of different coffee/espresso makers. The pods? Looked at those! The expensive "true" espresso makers? Looked at those! French presses? Looked at those! I always wanted to make those specialty drinks you can buy for a lot more at stores for much less. This set is everything you need!

The milk pours right into the cup and you place it right on the stove. When it's nice and hot (but not boiling!) you take it off the heat, place the top on, and shake it up a few times. You'll find the perfect balance of milk and foam that you like!

The espresso itself comes out great. I'm not a coffee expert but I do believe that I get "crema" sometimes. Add water to the bottom, coffee to the middle, and let the coffee pour over in the top.

This isn't the fastest solution. It can take a little while to heat up and requires your attention when it does. Additionally, the foamer can be put in the dishwasher but the espresso maker cannot so you have to rinse everything by hand. (Remember to rise that pressure valve!)

While this isn't the fastest, it is the cheapest and most reliable set up possible! There's no electronics and everything has wonderful construction so it will never break down! Since buying this set I've made drinks for friends and family and everyone has wanted more!!

5 out of 5 stars great little latte maker.   June 30, 2010

i desperately wanted an espresso machine to make my lattes at home; however, i didn't want to give up precious counter space to a machine, nor did i want to spend the big bucks. this stove top espresso maker was the perfect solution. it took me a few tries before i got the hang of it, but now that i know what i am doing, it is a cinch to make my latte every morning. bonus, it doesn't take up any counter space and it is super easy to clean. the espresso is delicious, although sans crema. the milk frother is absolutely awesome. it makes a gorgeous thick foam of milk perfect to plop on top of the espresso for a delicious latte.

if you are an espresso snob, this is probably not the device for you, but if you are like me and just want a yummy latte without the $4 starbucks price tag, then this might just be what you were looking for.
