This pan is so multi-functional. The main reason I bought it, is because in a certain catalog, there is a combo of the new d5 design (but same size) which comes with a fryer basket. Luckily I already had the All-Clad basket, a loose-end product at a store and it's been waiting for a friend. Well, I found it! I can use these together for frying, blanching, or cooking larger pastas. But even without the basket, useful for cooking any large quantity. The quality of this All-Clad is superb as usual. I never have a problem with hot spots, burning, or clean-up. Over the years I have always looked for sales/deals on this cookware and Amazon is now the first place I look.

All-Clad is the only manufacturer that has one piece base, not a glued on piece like Fitzer which chargers you arm and leg. Secondly the main part which is the pot is manufactured in US not anywhere else. The lead is manufactured in China. Just insure to heat your stainless steel slowly and clean only with BAR KEEPERS FRIEND cleaner and you will have centuries of service out of this product. This is the only product that I buy which is US made since really, it is that good. All-Clad sells three pots which are priced extremly well and this is one of the three... Simply Bravo.

This item is heirloom quality. It will last for generations. It has been very functional for what I've done so far (spaghetti and soup). It of course cleans up very easily. I haven't had to break up the spaghetti to fit it in the pot.

I have had this pot over six months now. And I must say it is great and very versatile. I don't own alot of cookware just the basics. And I can do so many things with this pot,from frying,to boiling and even has baked foods in the oven. This is a good pot to have around. I am not a big cook, but I do cook sometimes. And this pot always comes in handy. I also own some Anolon which is very decent for non stick. But this is my first All Clad pan and I am very happy with it. Very big pan with high walls. This is a beautiful pot, when you first lay your eyes on it you know it is a piece of quality work. When the pots I have wear out. Piece by piece they will be replace with all clad. All Clad has a life time warranty.
