I ordered this Microwave Pasta cooker set off the TV commercial aired during the Fox News broadcast on the morning of the 16th of August 2010 via the telephone. The company charged my account $80.00. When I called customer service obviously this company has their customer service out sorced. They could not answer a simple question "Why did you charge me $80.00 for a cheap plastic Microwave Pasta cooker set" $80.00 is what they are charging my account. I would think twice before placing an order with this company.

5 out of 5 stars Got my money's worth!   August 14, 2010

Although it is not the right size for a smaller microwave, what this product says it does is true. I use my Pasta-N-More often. I've used it to steam veggies, cook potatoes, and of course, make pasta. The instructions state that you can even use it to cook ground beef but I have not tried that yet and I don't really know if I will. I will tell you what I love though.

1) I don't have to use my stove. On hot days or warm evenings, that is a big deal to me since it doesn't heat the kitchen up at all.
2) I use a lot less water than I would in a pot. This means no boil over, no real mess.
3) I can store food in the same device as I cook.
4) It's very easy to clean.
5) My meal cooks much faster.
6) It has a built-in strainer in the lid so it's easy to protect yourself against steam burns and such. (Just make sure your use a towel to hold because after 10 minutes in a microwave and anything is going to get hot.)
7) The handles are built-in pasta measures, which means a lot to me bcz I can watch my portion sizes very well with it.
8) It has a cookbook with pretty accurate cooking time chart.

This is not a professional cooking product but it makes good on what it promises in it's name. It's low cost and perfect for a single person on the go or a small family with little time to cook. I gave it 5 stars because I've had it well over a year and I use it a couple of times per week and it does not show any wear, it is easy to store, it is easy to travel with, & it does what it promises to do.

4 out of 5 stars Works great in a shoddy microwave   July 5, 2010

My husband brought this home as a gift for me two days ago. We were having a 4th of July party and our range heats up our small kitchen so much - he thought the Pasta N' More would save me from being over-heated. I'm pregnant, so the heat really gets to me.

I followed the directions carefully and because our microwave is pretty shoddy, I always add 5 to 10 minutes cook time to recipes that call for 15 or more minutes. We do not have a turntable style.

The pasta turned out well. Not 'perfect', but close. What I do not like is that the strainer lid cannot be left in place and is hard to snap on. The lid DOES stay on really well, though - no spilled pasta.

All in all, I am very happy with this product.

I picked up the Pasta N More at a thrift store for $2(still in the plastic...looked like it had never been used),and couldn't resist giving it a try. Its true the instructions are a bit vague (not sure why) but if you are making spaghetti, you dont really need much instruction. I did follow the cooking directions exactly and at the end of 16 minutes, I had perfect al dente spaghetti....and it wasnt stuck together like it gets when I make it in a pot! I was actually surprised, considering some of the complaints of the unit. And the straining cover is VERY convenient. I havent tried the Pasta N More for steaming because I already have a microwave steamer, but I really got this for spaghetti so I wouldnt have to boil water for pasta in the summer and heat up the kitchen unnecessarily. It worked for me!

I needed something to good pasta in for the summer when it's just too hot to spend 20 minutes boiling a huge pot of water. I saw this at the local dollar store for [...] bucks so I picked it up. It works very well so far. It's made out of very sturdy plastic and the handles make it very easy to take out of the microwave. Only downside is the cooking times aren't all that clear so it takes some guess work. I added half a pound of pasta and made sure the water covered it well and microwaved it for 12 minutes. It came out perfectly. I do think using will require some trial and error, but for 10 dollars (and a cool house) it's totally worth it.
